well written piece week 12
Looking around online at the Washington Post, I found this opinion article that discussed Shakespeare's relevance in today's world. Since almost every one in the country have smart phones, the author looks at Shakespeare's stories if he had the availability to a smartphone during that time. It was a funny and interesting article that I really enjoyed reading.

Well Written Piece week 10
"A couple of years ago I tasted the best cookie I’ve ever eaten. I quit eating meat and had just started working at a popular New Haven vegetarian restaurant, Claire's Corner Copia, which is where I experienced the uniquely vegan cookie. Ariel, a coworker of mine, informed me that those were “Everything but the Kitchen Sink" cookies, a soft, raisin-filled sweet oat concoction for vegans with a sweet tooth."
This passage is from the beginning of an article off of The Mercurial which is about a vegetarian restaurant in New Haven called Claire's Corner Copia. This beginning pulls the reader in and makes you want a bite of those "Everything but the Kitchen Sink" cookies!

Well written piece week 9
"Those who saw him hushed. On Church Street. Liberty. Cortlandt. West Street. Fulton. Vesey. It was a silence heard itself, awful and beautiful. Some thought at first that it must have been a trick of the light, something to do with the weather, an accident of shadowfall." (McCann p. 3)
This passage from the very beginning of Let The Great World Spin opens the book beautifully.
